Discretion is not a feature of this practice — it is the practice. This page sets out, plainly, what information we collect, how we use it, and the care we take with it.

Lummaris is a boutique financial advisory practice. Our work reaches the most sensitive details of a business and the people behind it — and owners share those details only because they trust us to protect them. We treat that trust as the foundation of every engagement. This page explains, in plain terms, how we handle personal information on this website and in our work. It reflects both our professional obligations as CPAs and the privacy law of Quebec.
This policy applies to visitors to this website, to prospective clients who get in touch with us, and to the clients we advise. It concerns personal information — information that identifies an individual, or reasonably could.
We collect only what we need, and no more.
This website has no contact forms and no sign-in. You reach us directly, and you decide what to share.
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, to carry out the advisory work you engage us for, to communicate with you, and to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations. We do not use it for any other purpose without telling you first.
This is the part that matters most to us. Client information is held in strict confidence. We do not discuss one client's affairs with another. We do not act on what we learn for anyone's benefit but the client's. As CPAs, we are bound by the confidentiality rules of our profession — and we hold ourselves to a standard higher still. What is shared with us in the course of an engagement stays within that engagement.
We do not sell personal information, and we never share it for marketing. We disclose information only in narrow, specific circumstances:
In every case, we share only the minimum necessary.
We maintain reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. Because the principals do the work themselves, your information passes through very few hands — and that, in itself, is a meaningful protection.
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and as long as our legal and professional obligations require. When it is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.
Quebec law gives you rights over your personal information. You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it where it is inaccurate, and withdraw your consent to certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below — we will respond promptly, and without charge for reasonable requests.
This website uses only the minimal data needed for it to function and to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. We do not use advertising trackers. Most browsers let you limit or block cookies if you prefer; the site will still work.
Lummaris has designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. If you have a question about this policy, or about the information we hold, we will be glad to help. Write to us at our office, or reach either of us through the contacts on our Contact page.
We may update this policy from time to time as our practice or the law evolves. The current version, and the date it took effect, will always appear at the top of this page.
